The Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH) has announced three new board members.
They are Ian Harwood, Chris Flanagan and Ania Hampton All three joined the AIRAH board following the annual general meeting in Melbourne last week.
AIRAH CEO Phil Wilkinson, said each board member brings a unique set of skills and perspective to the board table.
"Their fresh ideas, energy, and strategic nous will be invaluable as AIRAH enters an important new expansion phase of our journey," Wilkinson said.
Harwood has acted as an interim board member since last December following the resignation of Ross Angel, who recently began his two-year term as a director.
The trio have all served AIRAH in various capacities, with both Harwood and Hampton chairing conference committees.
Edefice director, Ania Hampton, said she has previous experience on the board of a not-for-profit organisation.
"I will be focusing on continuing the governance and due diligence work the board has been doing so well," she said.
"I will also bring a small business perspective to the board; I know many of our members daily face the same challenges I do, and I’ll be looking to see what AIRAH can do to assist them achieve their goals in the industry."
Hampton said one of the main areas of interest is the membership base and looking at ways to engage with a wider cross-section of industry, especially the bright young minds who will be so vital in shaping the future of HVAC&R.
Flanagan, the South Australian state manager for Schneider Electric’s building business, has previously served as a member and president of the Institute’s South Australian state committee.
“Having been actively involved in AIRAH at a state level for the past 10 years, I feel very proud and humbled to join the board,” he said.
Board members Bryon Price, and Sean Treweek, have stepped down after years of dedicated service. "They delivered exceptional service," Wilkinson said.
