RectorSeal Corporation, an international manufacturer of HVAC/R and plumbing products, has acquired the Evo-Crete and PolySlab brands from Queensland-based HVAC equipment manufacturer, the Evolve Group.
The acquisition coincides with the formation of RectorSeal Australia Pty. Ltd., which will market the two brands initially in Australia and New Zealand and create a geographical base for future international market penetration.
Rectorseal is based in Houston, Texas and manufactures over 350 specialty products to the HVAC and plumbing markets.
RectorSeal acquired Evo-Crete and PolySlab's brand names, patents and marketing rights, however Evolve Group is contracted to continue manufacturing the products under their existing high quality standards at its two production locations totaling 98,000 square feet.
Both brands consist of nine skus each that are mainly lightweight, more durable, and less cumbersome alternatives to concrete HVAC equipment support pads.
PolySlab is an eight-year-old brand that uses 100 per cent recycled polypropylene for HVAC slabs and protective pump covers for the plumbing industry. Evo-Crete is a four-year-old product line of ultra lightweight fibre-reinforced concrete for slabs, blocks and bases that are three times lighter than their conventional concrete counterparts.
The Evolve Group's former national business development manager, Paul Brooks will be the newly-formed company's operations and sales manager.
The two brands' supply chain network will remain intact through its current Australian and New Zealand HVAC wholesalers, according to Bill Flynn, RectorSeal's vice president of international sales.
For RectorSeal, it marks its fourth major acquisition in the last three years and expands the 77-year-old company's many brands of HVAC, firestop, plumbing, construction and electrical specialty products.
According to Flynn, this transaction was the final step in completing distribution in all Asian and South Pacific markets.
