Supplier of mechanical pipe-joining systems, Victaulic, has opened a new distribution warehouse in Perth, Western Australia.

The new branch will support the Melbourne facility, providing increased flexibility in order fulfilment and faster shipments for Victaulic and its many customers on the western seaboard.

Victaulic vice president and general manager for Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia, Dave Sharkey, said the warehouse was opened in response to increased customer demand in the fire protection, HVAC, mining and industrial sectors.

"The new location offers warehouse and storage facilities, and office space for a dedicated regional customer care department," he said.

"We are extremely excited by the opening of our Perth warehouse. It links the West and East Coast of Australia with warehousing, logistics and inventory capability, and provides another means of servicing South Australia and the Northern Territory.

"The Western Australian region is continuing to grow, and our new site acts as a gateway to connect product with market.

"Being closer to such a large and diverse market means we can work more directly with customers to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions, on a shorter timeline.”

For Victaulic customers, the WA facility will reduce lead times on orders, stock inventory specific to WA market and customer requirements, and also allow for customer care to be closer and more in line with the specific demands of WA customers.

"The overarching benefit for our customers located in the west is that we can now fit to their business requirements," Sharkey said.

"Short timelines and cost saving activities are part and parcel with business life; the speed of delivery from warehouse to site as well as personnel availability will be extremely beneficial.”
