The Australian Water Association is hosting the Water Innovation Forum 2015 in Sydney tomorrow.

The two day event, which will be held at the Royal Randwick, examines water smart cities including cost saving innovations for smart buildings, recreation areas, manufactured estates as well as future challenges faced by the construction sector.

Keynote speakers include Australia's chief scientist, Professor Ian Chubb, Circular Economy Australia program director, Candice Quatermain and Deloitte Consulting partner, Kevin Russo.

Other topics to be covered include the role of disruptive innovations and their application in the water sector.

Day two of the Forum includes a  series of presentations highlighting the key role of financing and commercialisation initiatives to support innovators and how to accelerate the market uptake of products.

Case studies from other countries will provide the audience and innovators with a greater understanding of the market.

There will also be a session on how Australian water utilities are leading the way in regards to innovation and the adoption of disruptive technologies.

Three major utilities will share some of the key innovation driven initiatives they have put in place to deliver positive change for customers and ensure the protection of water resources.
