Refra has introduced OASIS, a new Standard Line of water-to-water chillers and heat pumps designed as a versatile hydronic solution for highly efficient heating and cooling in commercial and industrial buildings.

Built on a unified platform concept, the range includes water-to-water heat pumps and liquid-cooled chillers that share the same robust construction, advanced refrigeration technology and compact design philosophy.

The product range covers a wide performance spectrum suitable for projects of various sizes. Cooling capacities reach up to 410 kW, while heating capacities extend up to 516 kW, making the systems suitable for commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, data centres, industrial facilities and district energy applications.
The new product line operates with natural refrigerant propane (R290), delivering strong thermodynamic performance while maintaining a very low global warming potential.

The systems fully comply with EU F-Gas regulations and EN378 safety standards, supporting the transition towards more sustainable refrigeration and air conditioning solutions.

Safety is a key element in the design of the Oasis line. The units follow the Class IV – ventilated enclosure concept defined in EN378, where all refrigerant-containing components are located inside a dedicated enclosure equipped with monitored ventilation and a refrigerant leak detector.

The enclosure is maintained under slight negative pressure to prevent refrigerant from escaping into the surrounding environment. If a leak is detected, the system automatically shuts down all non-ATEX components while the ventilation extracts the gas from the enclosure.

This integrated safety concept allows Oasis systems to safely utilize natural refrigerants such as propane while meeting strict safety requirements for installation in commercial and industrial buildings.

To meet different requirements, the OASIS range is available in several configurations. These include Oasis Solo unit for small to medium installations, as well as multi-circuit models Oasis Twin, Oasis Tribus and Oasis Quad, designed for higher capacities and mission-critical environments where operational redundancy and continuous performance are essential.

The OASIS series also offer advanced control and efficiency options, including inverter technology for variable compressor speed control. This enables precise capacity modulation, improved part-load efficiency and reduced mechanical stress on system components.

Combining advanced refrigeration technology with a compact and robust design, each unit is engineered with high-quality compressors, brazed plate heat exchangers and corrosion-resistant construction to ensure long-term durability and reliable performance in demanding environments. The systems are designed for fast installation and commissioning, helping accelerate project delivery.

OASIS units are typically supplied as either water-to-water chillers for cooling or water-to-water heat pumps for heating, depending on project requirements. In a dual-function configuration, however, the unit can provide both heating and cooling capacities within the same system.

In this setup, the unit simultaneously generates heating and cooling power, while the Siemens Climatix controller allows the user to define which output is prioritised based on operational needs. This approach enables efficient use of thermal energy, particularly in buildings where heating and cooling demands occur at the same time.

By integrating both functions into a single unit, the solution reduces equipment footprint, simplifies system design, and lowers installation and investment costs compared to separate heating and cooling systems.
