Danfoss has launched Cool Ctrl, a new range of evaporator control panels that greatly simplify design, installation, and commissioning for contractors and system integrators.
Cool Ctrl evaporator control panels provide contractors with a safe, energy‑efficient, and cost‑effective way to install or upgrade existing refrigeration systems.
Danfoss product manager, at Cool Ctrl System Controls, Jay Lyon, said the evaporator control panels were designed to ease the burden during the design, installation, and commissioning phases.
“By offering both Standard and Advanced versions, we ensure contractors can find the right solution for their specific industrial refrigeration needs,” Lyon said.
“Contractors must consider a wide range of factors when designing control panels. We’ve streamlined that process by pre‑configuring Cool Ctrl panels before shipping.
“For example, they come pre‑equipped with standard control options for industrial evaporators, saving contractors the time and effort of communicating software and hardware specifications to programmers and electrical panel designers.
“The Advanced version also features an intuitive built‑in web server and touchscreen, enabling contractors to configure multiple evaporators simultaneously.”
PLC programming is often cited as a major pain point for contractors.
“Creating new evaporator control sequences can be time‑consuming. On top of that, contractors must develop new graphical representations for each evaporator, replicate functionality across units, and integrate them into the existing PLC.
“We’ve incorporated all control logic into the panel, allowing commissioning to begin before installing the main PLC. Contractors can also view and access all control values and advanced settings directly from the main PLC system, greatly simplifying programming.”
Because Cool Ctrl panels are purpose‑built for industrial refrigeration evaporators, they include features that optimise performance.
“Our panels control the operation of valves and fans for each evaporator, ensuring optimal cooling and defrost sequences,” Lyon said.
