The Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) has announced the appointment of five new directors to its board.
The ARC Board is comprised of six directors in total, elected by the membership to represent the industry's diverse interests.
To ensure balanced representation, the board consists of three directors responsible for the stationary sector and three directors responsible for the automotive (mobile) sector. The ARC CEO serves as the executive director.
The incoming board brings a diverse blend of global business leadership, technical expertise and deep roots in the HVACR stationary and automotive sectors.
The newly appointed members are:
- Andrew Ambrose, Refrigerant Australia (Stationary)
- Mark Rowe, VASA (Mobile)
- Michael Hamilton, AMCA (Stationary)
- Paul Campbell, RRA (Mobile)
- Sami Zheng, AIRAH (Stationary)
Nigel Muller (VACC) will continue his service on the board, providing vital continuity during this transition.
The ARC extends its sincere thanks to the outgoing board members for their dedicated service as their term ended: Chair Greg Picker (RA); Kylie Farrelley (RRA); Ian Stangroome (VASA); Dain Venning (NECA); and Scott Williams (AMCA).
ARC CEO, Mark Lamb, welcomed the new appointments and reflected on the organisation's recent trajectory.
“The last year has been one of progress and an unwavering unity of purpose,” Lamb said.
“It is through our collective commitment to advancing the ARCtick scheme that we continue to move the industry forward.
“I am very grateful for the contributions of the previous board. Much work was done to align our strategic focus, and there is significant work ahead to continue the governance of the ARCtick scheme,” Lamb said.
“I welcome all our new board members and look forward to building on the incredible amount of work currently underway.”
Andrew Ambrose has been appointed board chair, succeeding Greg Picker. Ambrose brings a substantial breadth of global business, strategic and governance leadership experience to the ARC. Further, Mark Rowe has been appointed as the deputy chair.
Rowe brings over 35 years of hands-on industry experience as a business owner and operator within the automotive electrical sector.
With a blend of experience, continuity, and fresh insight, the newly appointed board will build on the ARC’s successful 21-year co-regulatory model, ensuring industry and government work together to drive business and technician excellence and minimise refrigerant emissions.
