Australia has been recognised for excellence in refrigeration and air conditioning at the WorldSkills International Competition in Shanghai.
Skillaroo Adam Morgan received a medal for excellence in the most heavily contested RAC category in WorldSkills history.
In addition to the gold, silver and bronze medallists, 11 received medals for excellence including Morgan and Campbell Brown of New Zealand.
Morgan is from the Hunter Region in New South Wales. He has been training since winning the WorldSkills Australia national competition in June 2025.
After four days of intense competition at WorldSkills Shanghai, Sam Jones of the United Kingdom won the gold medal, Minje Kim of Korea won the silver medal and Xavier Belanger of Canada won bronze.
Across 64 skills, competitors from around the world put their technical knowledge, practical skills, precision and creativity to the test.
In the leadup to WorldSkills Shanghai, Australia’s Skillaroos participated in the Global Skills Challenge event in June.
The event brought together competitors from 16 countries to showcase excellence across 33 skills from trade and technology including refrigeration and air-conditioning, carpentry, mechatronics and electrical installations.
Six competitors took part in the refrigeration and air conditioning category, representing Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Hong Kong.
It was here that Adam Morgan won silver for Australia.
