The Chemours Company has taken action to protect its intellectual property relating to refrigerant technology during Chillventa 2026 in Nuremberg, Germany.

Local courts issued injunctions against four companies infringing upon Chemours' intellectual property and patents of select hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) refrigerant blends.

The company said this action showcases Chemours' unwavering commitment to protecting its innovation and intellectual property investments in advanced refrigerant technologies and across applications.

Chemours president, thermal & specialised solutions, Joseph Martinko, said enforcing intellectual property rights supports industry-wide innovation, fair competition, their customers, and continued technology development.

"Innovation does not happen by accident; it is built on years of research, development, and investment," he said.

"Protecting intellectual property is essential to preserving incentives for innovation, advancing refrigerant technology, and supporting fair competition.

"Chemours will continue to take appropriate action to defend its intellectual property rights and protect the innovations that help our customers meet evolving industry needs."

Chemours is actively working with enforcement authorities around the globe and educating customers, vendors, and other stakeholders to raise awareness about these Patent Infringing products and the importance of buying genuine refrigerants.
