AI applications, high-performance computing, increasingly stringent regulatory requirements and the transition towards sustainable energy systems are changing the requirements of the HVACR industry worldwide.

BITZER chief sales & marketing officer, Martin Büchsel, said BITZER is working with customers to shape that future.

“Whether in data centre cooling, large-scale heat pumps or natural refrigerants, our goal is to secure the success and growth of our customers and partners together with them,” Büchsel said.

The ongoing global digitalisation, the rapid growth of AI applications and high-performance computing are continuously increasing the demands placed on data centres.

To meet those requirements BITZER has launched HELICOM.

BITZER CTO,  Rainer Große-Kracht, said with HELICOM, the company is presenting one of the most significant developments in its screw compressor technology.

“The new series supports cooling systems for the latest generation of AI chips with supply temperatures of up to +45°C and enables standardised cooling platforms that can be deployed consistently around the world,” he said.

“HELICOM is built on more than four decades of BITZER experience in screw compressor technology.”

With its wide application limits, support for established low-GWP refrigerants and flexibility for different cooling concepts, the HELICOM CS60 series supports standardised cooling platforms for a wide range of load profiles, locations and climate zones.

Optimised rotor profiles and efficient full and part load operation support demanding PUE targets. The series is also suited to the low-lift operation at low ambient temperatures that is typical of modern data centres.

At the same time, the integrated IQ MODULE contributes to high operational reliability and availability.

The decarbonisation of heating is another challenge. While global demand for large-scale heat pumps continues to grow, practical implementation remains challenging due to high capacities, individual temperature requirements, integration into existing industrial processes or heating networks and increasing demands for efficiency, reliability and cost-effectiveness.

BITZER is working to efficiently and reliably extend the application range of its heat pump components to condensing temperatures of more than +140°C.

One of the highlights at Chillventa 2026 was the CSH2T series.

Developed specifically for high temperature heat pumps, these compact screw compressors enable fluid outlet temperatures of up to +120°C, making them suitable for a wide range of applications in industrial heating processes as well as district heating networks.

Heating capacities of up to approximately 1.1 MW per compressor open up additional possibilities for high-capacity heat pump concepts.
