Gas2Find is a new leak detection refrigerant available now from Heatcraft Australia.

The increased focus on leak detection, environmental compliance and mitigation of refrigerant losses,  highlights the need to find an effective method of detecting small leaks in large commercial systems.

Pressure decay tests identify if a leak is present but the point of a leak is often difficult to find.  Bubble  tests do not always effectively find the location of a leak and an extensive amount of time can be spent  trying to detect where the leak is located within the system.

As a solution, Gas2Find in conjunction with a leak detector is a responsive way to locate even the  smallest leak, saving costs to you and your customer’s business.

Gas2Find is a non-flammable and non-toxic mixture of five per cent hydrogen with 95 per cent nitrogen. Hydrogen is  the smallest molecule, allowing it to pass through small holes and channels. Gas2Find will be  available in E and G sized cylinders.

Customers who need to upgrade their leak detector can source a  wide range of electronic leak detectors and accessories from Heatcraft.  Gas2Find is part of the Heatcraft Gas2Go Total Management System offer.

When selecting a refrigerant supplier, a key criterion is whether they provide a simplified system that works in your favour to save money.

The Heatcraft Gas2Go gas management system, offers the option of Club membership which entitles members to exclusive gas credits and an alternative to paying cylinder rental.

Heatcraft Australia gas, parts and consumables business manager, Kristy Harder, said a primary way for customers to save on refrigerant rental costs is to reduce the amount of stock they hold.

"The phase out of R22 and the introduction of new refrigerants has seen an increase in cylinder holdings among our customers. With these increased refrigerant options, half full refrigerant cylinders are effectively assets sitting in the back of the van, rather than cash in the bank.”

Kristy said a large amount of a company’s time and resources can be spent interpreting and consolidating cylinder reports and chasing cylinder history. The gas credits offered by Heatcraft means that Gas2Go Club members no longer need to hold on to
un-used refrigerant gas or part-filled refrigerant cylinders.

They can simply return them to a Heatcraft branch for a gas credit where applicable (T&Cs apply. Visit heatcraft.com.au for details).  One Gas2Go Club member taking advantage of the gas credit facility is Coldflow Heating & Cooling general manager,  Ben Donald.

“We have a large fleet, so the ability to return cylinders for credit,  allows us to reduce the number of cylinders in circulation and better manage accountability. It also reduces our exposure to lost cylinders.”

To efficiently manage cylinder holdings, Gas2Go is linked to the Heatcraft smart@ccess customer portal.  Smart@ccess, enables customers to check your monthly cylinder activity statements and quarterly reports online anytime from a mobile or desktop device.

All activity and reporting relating to your gas purchases including cylinder number, date of issue and return, and the person responsible for collection is updated daily and can be downloaded in csv or pdf format to assist with ARCtick reporting.

Gas2Go Club essentially eliminates daily rental charges. For an annual membership fee, customers can have access to a fleet of Heatcraft refrigerant, reclaim and pump down, cylinders up to a maximum nominated quantity. They are able to transact as many times as needed throughout the membership period, without incurring daily rental charges.

In addition, cylinders which are part of the Gas2Go Club can be kept for 24 months before they are deemed lost instead of the standard 12 months and Gas2Go Club members also receive preferential pricing during some sales. To join the Gas2Go Club, contact Heatcraft on 13 23 50.
