Carrier has launched its new generation of MiniCO2OL Compact refrigeration units, specifically designed for convenience stores and supermarkets to increase efficiency, serviceability and provide faster delivery times to customers.

Carrier’s product management and marketing director, Gaël Grenat, said the new range is easier to configure, more cost effective and has all the benefits of using the natural refrigerant carbon dioxide (CO2).

“We estimate a reduced lead time of just six to seven weeks for the new models, providing a huge benefit for installers and customers,” he said.

The new MiniCO2OL Compact line offers capacities of up to 190kW for medium temperature applications and 56.5kW for low temperature applications, making it ideal for a wide range of applications.

The units operate with a standard 60 bar of pressure and are supplied with a 188-litre receiver, which can be upgraded to 300 litres.

Key to the energy efficiency gains is the ability to reclaim heat for either tap water, central heating, or both, where specified.

The new models are also available with the option of an advanced capacity control unit, enabling capacity modulation of between 10 and 100 per cent  on the first medium temperature compressor.

“By standardising and simplifying the range, we estimate we can address around 80 per cent of the demand we see in this sector,” Grenat said.

“We will continue to offer the customisable legacy MiniCO2OL design, ensuring a Carrier solution for every application.”

For maximum flexibility, the MiniCO2OL Compact unit is designed for operation with a wide range of controllers from multiple brands. Additional benefits include an open frame offering better access to components for maintenance, clearly identified cable trays, and a simplified control panel for ease of operation.
