German manufacturer, Roller, has opened a second assembly hall in 12 months to keep pace with growing demand for its air coolers.

In a statement, Roller said: “The reason for this further expansion is the sustained and foreseeable high demand for quality air coolers over the next few years. This increases Roller's total production area to a gross 10,000 square metres.”

A year ago, Roller expanded its production area at the first plant  by 800 square metres.

Now the company is adding another 1,200 square metres at its Gerlingen site in Germany.

Roller has gained a reputation in individual heat exchanger engineering and fan coil production. The heat exchangers for all three product groups are produced in-house.

With the addition of another assembly hall, the relocation of suitable series units can now be completed. This gives product families with a high component diversity and greater assembly effort, as well as heat exchanger production for all product groups in the main factory, more room for the further expansion of production automation.

The decision to expand production capacities was to continue to meet the high expectations of Roller customers with consistently short delivery times in the future, according to the company’s managing director, Wolfgang Krenn.

"No one would have expected the demand for refrigeration technology to recover so quickly after the Corona virus lockdown and that we would also have to deal with such a shortage of components,” he said.

“We are very glad that we made this investment decision despite the uncertainty.”
