Gas detection manufacturer, Safe Monitoring Group, has formally completed its acquisition of CPC, which is part of the Carter Group.
Safe Monitoring Group together with CPC will continue the expansion of their work to ensure the safe and efficient use of gases as well as supporting the transition to natural refrigerants.
Carter Group are an engineering business with an 80-year history and is best known for its work with supermarket refrigeration and building services.
CPC(UK) was founded in 1989 as a division of Carter Synergy Limited. It is the largest provider of specialist leak detection equipment for UK supermarkets.
In recent years it has expanded into other refrigerant gas leak detection markets both in the UK and overseas.
As part of the sale the whole CPC (UK) business was hived down into a separate company. SMG have acquired 100% of the share capital of the business.
Being part of Safe Monitoring Group, CPC will collaborate in a range of areas from R&D and marketing through to procurement, sales and service.
This will benefit current customers of CPC and other companies of Safe Monitoring Group, who will have a wider range of products and services to support their needs in current and new applications.
Carter Thermal Industries Group CEO, Chris Hufflett, said SMG is the right partner to take CPC into its next phase of growth, offering expanded capabilities and international reach.
He said it will also be a seamless transfer for customers.

Safe Monitoring Group CEO Alexander Larsson, said the business relationship between CPC and the Safe Monitoring Group has evolved over decades within the refrigeration market.
