FARRAR, a brand of Trane Technologies’ Life Science Solutions business unit, has launched CYCLONE, a groundbreaking ultra-low freeze/store chamber.
It combines industry-leading sustainability with superior cooling performance to provide greater productivity, flexibility, and efficiency to all cold storage operations.
CYCLONE is the industry’s first forced air convection cold chamber designed for flexible temperature storage (set points -20°C to -80°C) and cooling capacity.
CYCLONE ensures precise temperature control and uniformity (+/-2°C across all temperature set points), cooling materials over three times faster than traditional cold wall ultra-low temperature (ULT) freezers.
President, Life Sciences at Trane Technologies, Matt Barga, said CYCLONE is a game-changer for customers aiming to meet sustainability goals.
“Designed with sustainability at its core, it delivers high performance and versatile freezing with minimal environmental impact,” he said.
“Its innovative design offers large capacity storage within a compact footprint, making it an ideal choice from drug discovery and clinical trials through production.”
Key features of CYCLONE include:
- Rapid Temperature Recovery: Up to 50% faster recovery from door openings compared to standard ULTs.
- Easy Maintenance: A packaged, quick-change top-mounted refrigeration system ensures easy, point-of-use maintenance.
- Space Efficiency: Heat rejection on top of the unit eliminates footprint clearance requirements, increasing density without impacting performance.
- Seamless Integration: Integrated Modbus TCP and BACnet IP for easy connection to existing monitoring solutions and building management systems.
Leveraging over a century of expertise in designing and maintaining high-performance temperature conditioning systems for the pharmaceutical and semiconductor industries, FARRAR is uniquely equipped to deliver precise analysis and performance evaluation for a wide array of systems.
