Wieland has commenced construction of a $500 million, state of the art hot rolling mill in the United States to increase the production of essential copper and copper alloy components.

These components are crucial for domestic manufacturers covering a broad variety of industries and strengthen Wieland’s presence in the North American market.

Wieland Group CEO, Dr Erwin Mayr said the investment positions the company as an undisputed leader in North American rolled products.

Work will be completed by mid-2028. Just last year, Wieland finalised its acquisition of Onda S.p.A., an Italian-based manufacturer of advanced heat exchangers, to increase its participation in the fast-growing heat exchanger and data centre cooling market.

Onda joined Wieland’s business unit Thermal Solutions, which develops and manufactures sustainable heating and cooling technologies such as high-performance tubes, heat exchangers, and solutions for electronics cooling.

Onda has two manufacturing plants in Mussolente (Italy) and Lonigo (Italy), one in Kangasala (Finland), and one in Delaware, Ohio (USA).
