Sustainability and energy efficiency underpinned the product development focus of new products on display at the Temperzone and Hitachi Cooling and Heating stand.

There was a broad range of products featured on the stand including new rooftop packaged units, water-cooled systems, fan coil technologies, VRF products and residential split systems.

The focus was on ultra-low global warming potential refrigerants, decarbonisation and flexible commercial HVAC solutions.

Temperzone group marketing manager, Jamie Nankivell, said the exhibition provided an important opportunity to showcase the company’s latest low-emissions technologies and gauge industry interest in next-generation refrigerant solutions.

A major attraction at the stand was Temperzone’s new Environex OPA rooftop packaged unit range, which the company described as one of the lowest global warming potential air-cooled packaged systems currently available on the market.

The Environex OPA range uses R1234ze refrigerant and delivers an ultra-low GWP of just six, representing a significant reduction compared with conventional R410A and even newer R32-based systems. Moreover, Environex OPA can operate in cooling mode at ambient temperatures up to 60 degrees Celsius.

According to Temperzone representatives, the new system attracted enormous attention throughout the ARBS exhibition as customers increasingly focus on long-term decarbonisation strategies.

“This is the lowest global warming potential refrigerant air-cooled unit on the market,” Nankivell said.

The Environex OPA system features twin compressors, full EC fan technology and advanced PLC-based control systems capable of managing humidity and temperature levels automatically within commercial spaces.

Temperzone also showcased its new Ecolite OPA rooftop packaged range, developed primarily as a replacement solution for older R410A rooftop systems already installed throughout the market.

The Ecolite OPA systems use R32 refrigerant and have been designed around similar footprints, spigot locations and installation dimensions as older units, helping simplify replacement projects and minimise modifications to existing ducting and plant infrastructure.

“It’s a much more cost-effective option,” Nankivell said.

Another major launch at ARBS was the Econex HWP range of R32 inverter water-cooled packaged units.

The new systems replace older fixed-speed R410A systems with more energy-efficient inverter technology while supporting lower-GWP refrigerant adoption.

Temperzone said the systems were designed to integrate with existing condenser water loop systems while improving overall operating efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

ARBS was also an opportunity to launch its upgraded Evolve and Hush fan coil ranges, including both standard-profile and low-profile units featuring EC fan motors and low-noise operation.

The systems have been designed for projects where installation flexibility, compact dimensions and quieter operation are important requirements.

Another product highlighted on the stand was the Clever MT air-handling unit fitted with a DX kit, designed as a versatile commercial air handling solution for a broad range of applications.

Temperzone also showcased its new innoTouch controller – a fully touchscreen wall controller featuring a more modern and intuitive user interface for commercial HVAC management.

Alongside the Temperzone products, the stand featured a large range of Hitachi Cooling and Heating technologies distributed by Temperzone.

Among the major products showcased was the new airCore 700 large single split range, which supports ducted, cassette and ceiling-suspended indoor units and can operate in cooling mode at ambient temperatures up to 52 degrees Celsius.

Temperzone also highlighted Hitachi’s new Multi Pro residential multi-split systems featuring wall-mounted, floor-mounted, cassette and bulkhead indoor unit options.

Another standout product was the award-winning Silent-Iconic four-way cassette system, which features an elevating grille allowing easier filter access and servicing.

“You can see here that we’ve actually got an elevating grill up and down so you can clean the grill from height,” Nankivell said.

The stand also featured Hitachi’s SideSmart modular VRF systems, air365 Max VRF systems and the company’s growing range of IoT-enabled controllers and smart commissioning technologies.

Nankivell said the industry’s move towards ultra-low GWP refrigerants was accelerating rapidly as customers increasingly focus on sustainability targets and future legislation changes. “It’s all heading in that direction,” he said.

“We’re proud to be setting the pace for the future.”
