In addition to the ARBSQLD exhibition, an international conference will run concurrently in Brisbane bringing together an ambitious schedule of events for Australia’s HVACR industry.
The Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning & Heating (AIRAH) will co-host the Building Simulation 2025 conference with the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) from August 24-27.
AIRAH conference & events manager, Marie Karekla, said Building Simulation 2025 will be by far the biggest conference AIRAH has ever hosted.
“It is one of the biggest events the Australian built environment sector has ever seen," she said.
"The conference will feature more than 400 speakers across nine rooms, so there truly is something for everyone who is interested in harnessing the latest technology to improve energy efficiency and sustainability in the built environment."
Karekla said AIRAH is proud to co-host this extraordinary event with the Australasian Affiliate of the International Building Performance Simulation Association (I

BPSA Australasia).
“I'd like to thank IBPSA Australasia and the conference technical organising committee, who have worked extremely hard to make Building Simulation 2025 a reality,” she said.
The theme of the conference is "Carbon-centric building simulation for a sustainable tomorrow."
Keynote speakers for Building Simulation 2025 will include Associate Professor Jen Martin who spent many years working as a field ecologist until she decided the most useful thing she could contribute as a scientist was to teach other scientists how to be effective and engaging communicators.
Martin founded and leads the University of Melbourne’s acclaimed Science Communication Teaching Program and is deeply committed to helping scientists develop the skills they need to be visible, make connections and have impact.
For 18 years she’s been talking about science each week on 3RRR radio, and also writes for a variety of publications, in addition to hosting podcasts and events.
Martin was named the 2019 Unsung Hero of Australian Science Communication and is a member of the Homeward Bound Faculty, a global leadership program for women in STEM.
Another keynote speaker is Winitha Bonney, a well-known thought leader and dynamic speaker who was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 2021.
