Daikin will spend $US230 million on a new air conditioning manufacturing facility in the Huizhou Metropolis, Guangdong Province in southern China.

It will be supported by an additional R&D centre in Suzhou.

The new plant will commence production in October 2024 and will be constructed on land adjoining another Daikin manufacturing plant at Taimei Industrial Park.

The new enterprise will operates as Daikin Air Conditioning (Huizhou) Co Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daikin (China) Funding Co.

Construction on Daikin’s new R&D centre in Suzhou will commence this month and be completed in the first half of 2024.

The Suzhou manufacturing facility is the biggest manufacturing base of the Daikin Group and has more than 6,000 staff and an annual output exceeding $US1.7bn.
