Louise McCann is global commercial director at A-Gas with responsibility for managing the entire APAC region.
Louise joined A-Gas in 2005 and has seen the company transform itself from being a repackaging and distribution business to becoming a leader in refrigerant management.
“I think HVACR is special because it is an essential industry,” Louise says. “We also get to make a difference, our industry can have a real impact on climate change by responsibly transitioning to low GWP products. I also get to work in different countries and travel around the globe.”
Throughout her career, Louise has been able to grow and develop her skills. “I’ve always felt empowered to speak up and make a difference,” she says.
Louise attributes this to her peers and the privilege of working with such a fantastic team. “There’s no doubt we are in a male dominated industry but I’ve had the pleasure of working with so many amazing females across a range of roles and I hope this is something we see more of in the future,” she says.
Louise admits she is fairly thick skinned and big on asking for feedback. “This means I get plenty of advice,” she says. What is one of her favourite tips? “Know when to talk, but more importantly, know when to listen.”
