Shanae Houlden is a refrigeration technician at Oomiak Refrigeration.
She has also held positions at Gregory Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technologies and BossAir.”I have worked in the HVACR industry for seven years, starting my apprenticeship in 2016,” she says.
“Changing jobs within the industry during my apprenticeship opened my eyes to how varied the industry is. There are so many opportunities.” Shanae made the move to industrial refrigeration in the third year of her apprenticeship and loves it.
She certainly found a home at Oomiak which is an Australian owned, private refrigeration company that is a leader in industrial refrigeration. This allows Shanae to work on a range of interesting projects.
“Every single day there is something to learn,” she says. “The career progression possibilities are endless.” Shanae gets to set a great example for her daughter and has been able to pass on her own skills. It sounds like there could be another tradie in the family
